The Japanese Experiment

This course will be held together with Prof. Dr. Taro Furukata from the Hiroshima City University (Department Contemporary Art and Theory). It will be an online-cooperation between students from Japan and Hannover. The main language will be English.
It will be a block seminar with a theoretical and a practical part. Subject will be an experimental approach to relations between space and object/body. The intercultural set up as well as the digital format will be part of the experience. We will consider different concepts of space (e.g. landscape, architecture, dress, packaging, virtual space) concerning objects or bodies defining or representing space.
Each participant is asked to bring one or mor objects representing him- or herself (this could be digital objects as well). There will be intercultural and interdisciplinary groups of two or more students from HCU and HSH developing designs or artistic concepts which will be presented online during the last session of the course.
